What is custom wiring? Custom wiring is, well, not so custom anymore. Instead it is the idea, that when building or remodeling a house, all the communication wiring is brought to one central point, usually located in the laundry room. This makes it easy to service and install items such as cable and satellite TV, home networking, telephone and alarm systems. This tends to be labeled as "structured wiring".
Custom wiring these days means theater and house audio wiring is done when the house is being built thus saving on retrofit installation costs. Speaker and Volume Control locations are specified by the homeowner and they are wired before the house is dry walled. Then, when the building process is complete, we come in and install all the speakers, volume controls and theater equipment.
